In a warm and heartfelt atmosphere, the M. & M. Ivanaj Foundation Institut hosted the Evening of Gratitude for Teachers, as part of the “Mirash Ivanaj – Teacher of the Year 2026” Award.
The event brought together representatives from institutions, foundation partners, teachers, family members, and friends, creating an evening that was not merely ceremonial but deeply human. Among the distinguished guests was the Deputy Minister of Education and Sport, Ms. Orjana Osmani, who emphasized that education is not merely a profession, but a moral duty, a responsibility toward future generations and society as a whole.
The evening highlighted the fundamental role of education as one of the main pillars of societal development. At the heart of this mission are the teachers, individuals who shape not only knowledge but also the character and values of young generations every day. The Executive Director of the Foundation, Rezart Spahia, in his speech, stressed the importance of fostering a sustainable culture of appreciation for teachers.
One of the most meaningful aspects of this edition was the community’s involvement in selecting the finalist teachers. Through numerous votes and messages, citizens brought to light real stories and heartfelt memories, turning the selection process into a collective reflection on the role of teachers in our lives.
During the evening, finalist teachers from all levels of education were honored, receiving envelopes of recognition containing words written by former students and community members. This moment gave the ceremony a deeply emotional dimension, making the impact of teachers tangible beyond the classroom.
A particularly special moment was the honoring of retired teachers, women who have shaped entire generations and whose influence continues to resonate. In this category, for the first time, three awards were presented, third, second, and first place, turning this recognition into a full and dignified tribute to a lifetime of dedication.
The evening culminated with the awarding of the top teachers of this edition, showcasing stories of success, dedication, and lasting impact on students and the community. In the closing moments, Rudina Xhunga took the stage to address the audience, highlighting the warm message and gratitude that this initiative seeks to convey.
In conclusion, appreciation was expressed to all who contributed to the realization of this initiative, from the Foundation’s Board and staff to the supporting partners and institutions. The evening closed in a warm atmosphere, leaving not only emotions but also a clear message: valuing teachers is not a symbolic act, but a necessity for a society that aims to move forward.
