After the completion of the nomination phase, the “Mirash Ivanaj – Teacher of the Year 2026” Award enters one of its most significant stages: public voting.
Over the past weeks, thousands of citizens, students, parents, and colleagues submitted nominations, sharing powerful stories about teachers who have made a lasting impact on their lives. Each nomination was more than a name—it was a testimony of dedication, influence, and inspiration within Albania’s public education system.
We received stories of teachers who sparked curiosity, supported students through personal challenges, introduced innovative teaching approaches, and became pillars of their school communities. The response confirmed one thing clearly: exceptional educators are shaping the future every single day.
Following a thorough verification of eligibility criteria and a careful review of all submissions, finalists have been selected in three categories:
- Elementary School
- Middle school
- High School
Now, the voice of the community becomes part of the evaluation process.
🗳️ Public voting is open from February 16 to February 20 at 17:00. Each person may vote once, selecting one teacher in each category (three votes in total).

Public voting constitutes an important component of the final evaluation. The results will be combined with the professional assessment of an independent jury, in accordance with the award’s published methodology. The voting system is technically secured to ensure transparency, integrity, and fairness throughout the process.
This initiative goes beyond recognition. It seeks to place teachers at the center of public appreciation and to build a sustainable culture of respect and acknowledgment for those working in public education. In any society striving for long-term development, teachers are not symbolic figures—they are foundational ones.
