The project carried out by teacher Edlira Saraçi and the students of Class III-D at Edith Durham School addresses a topic that affects all of us every day: food. “Healthy Food – Good Choices for a Healthy Life” is a wonderful reminder that education for a healthy lifestyle begins at an early age.

In the first phase of the project, organized in the classroom through a well-prepared presentation, the students were divided into groups with different tasks. They collaborated through games, interactive questions, presentations, and practical activities, which helped them better understand the importance of healthy eating in everyday life.

In the second phase, the children visited a farm, where they observed firsthand and learned about the vegetable production process: from the seed, through cultivation and care, to the final products we consume. During the visit, they played, cooked, and finally enjoyed a healthy meal prepared with the farm’s organic products.

This unique experience, together with the activities carried out throughout the project, enabled the students to gain valuable knowledge about the importance of healthy nutrition and the impact that food choices have on their well-being.

The way they choose to eat in the future will be reflected in their personal food diaries.
