The history of a school is defined not only by the years it has existed, but also by the memories, achievements, and people who have passed through its corridors. To preserve this remarkable legacy, Principal Majlinda Ziu developed the “Museum Without Walls” project, an innovative initiative that brings the history of Sami Frashëri High School closer to present and future generations.
Born out of the challenges caused by the 2019 earthquake and the loss of part of the school’s historical materials, the project was conceived as a way to safeguard the collective memory of “Samiu” and make it accessible to everyone. What began as a physical museum within the school evolved into a modern digital platform where documents, photographs, videos, interviews, and alumni memories can be explored from anywhere in the world.
One of the most remarkable features of the project is the use of virtual technology, which allows visitors to experience the school’s history in an interactive and engaging way. Through this initiative, students have not only learned to appreciate the past but have also discovered how technology can be used to preserve and promote cultural and educational heritage.
“Museum Without Walls” is more than a digital archive; it is a bridge connecting generations, a testament to the identity of Sami Frashëri High School, and an inspiring example of how education, history, and innovation can come together to create something of lasting value for the community.
