Every year during the December holidays, thousands of kids around the world yearn to open their presents and cherish them.
Unfortunately, not every family has the privilege to indulge their desires. The damage caused by the earthquake of November 2019 was destructive in many aspects. Lives were extinguished, people lost relatives and families remained homeless, forced to survive in tents or in poor housing conditions, and some of them still are.
We chose to help more than 30 families this year in the areas of Bubq & Ishem, located in Durrës County, where the earth shuddered the most. Forty children, boys, and girls, ranging in age from 1 to 16 years old that belongs to these families, received clothing and toys attentively wrapped by our volunteer force.
Each family had a dedicated care package with goodies, essentials, and festive foodstuff.
Even though it was a rainy and gloomy day, the delivery went smoothly, and we managed to complete Santa’s work on point.
None of the above would have been possible without the effort of our volunteers and staff that meticulously took care of completing the implementation of this project and the consignment as it was meant to be.
We’re extremely grateful for all the donations received which made this process achievable.
Annually we target some children in need, to grant them a thoughtful gesture, and gift them with a smile, to give a little comfort to their daily struggles.
“A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal”. As a closing statement after this quote, while we are all dealing with a lot during these difficult days, we invite you not to forget that if it’s possible giving what you have, it may be better than you dare to think.
