As previously stated in our last blog, in continuation of the “Women for Children” Project – we are proceeding with the counseling sessions for women and their children, with the professional work of the dedicated Foundation’s staff.

The subject matters at this time were the psycho-emotional reactions in cases of natural disaster, such as earthquakes and the strike of the global pandemic. The psychologist gave practical and concise methods on how to cope with these upsetting events and to overcome the shock.

Managing panic and anxiety in young children and adolescences is challenging, since unlike adults they struggle to understand the situation and find it difficult to express themselves and talk about their feelings.

It’s also burdensome topic for the mothers too, since they carry a lot of responsibility and pressure to keep their families safe. Their mental health is important, and we must understand that resilience in time of natural catastrophes is crucial in order to get mentally stabilized and to continue with a structured daily routine.

These sessions with the therapist, are just one of the activities planned for the Project “Women for children”. Therefore, we formulate modules of education and training, which will be adjusted according to their real needs.
