Monday morning, at 3am, in Tirana, we experienced an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 on the Richter scale that took place at a depth of 10km. Preliminary reports indicate some damages to buildings and schools have occurred and are being assessed in the towns near the epicenter that was located 24 miles from this city, but no injuries. Although the general population may not know or pay attention to it, Albania is positioned on a couple seismic ridges and experiences pretty often several earth movements, such as 2 earthquakes in the past 7 days and 5 in the past month, for instance.

Meantime, some earth continues to be removed from our construction site….. The excavation work is extensive to incorporate also three underground floors of garages. As per specifically customary technical standards, the already established perimeter of the construction is currently undergoing systematic reinforcement all the way around before the base of the entire building is laid. Most of the project timeframe, in fact, is devoted to a well established foundation for the entire building.
